We are excited to share our One School, One Vision plan! Details here.
The One School, One Vision plan is a plan to reorganize and merge our elementary and middle schools into one K8 school for all. Our goal is to modify the school schedule to better align the learning day. All students will have the same 8:10 a.m.-3:10 p.m. school day. This will be an adjustment for K-5th grade, but a necessary change to make our building more unified.
There are many extraordinary and unique qualities that a K8 building offers. Here are just a few to highlight:
-Same schedule for families/siblings -Less transitions to new grade levels -Stronger relationships between teachers and students -Better alignment of curriculum and teaching needs -Students feel safer, with less discipline and behavior problems threatening learning -Continued academic supports with familiar teachers -Opportunities for student partnerships and peer mentoring -Opportunities for student leadership -All students riding the bus together -Experience higher levels of self-esteem -Students tend to have significantly higher scores in reading and math
