I am Justin Larmie and will serve as the Assistant Principal of the Middle School for the 2020-2021 School Year. I am originally from Southeast Missouri, but have been in the KC metro for over 17 years. I am married to Crystal, who began her career in education and is now stay-at-home mom to our four amazing children. Caedyn is our oldest, at fourteen. He will begin High School this year. Noelle is ten and is beginning 5th Grade. Lillian is eight and will be a proud 3rd grader. Jack is four and has one more year at home before starting Kindergarten.
My educational journey has links to Martin City, as I completed my student teaching here. I began working as an 8th-grade ELA teacher in a nearby, more rural district. I, then, returned to Martin City, where I taught 7th- and 8th-grade ELA for ten years. At that time, I became a District Instructional Coach and served in two elementary schools - Butcher-Greene and Belvidere. I am very excited to return to Martin City to serve, once again, in the Middle School.
I am committed to learning and maintaining personal growth. I completed my undergraduate work at UMKC, earning my BA in Middle School Education. Later, I earned my Master's Degree in Teacher Leadership and Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration. In 2018, I completed my doctoral journey, earning an Educational Doctorate in PreK-12 Educational Administration. I am eager to continue to put into practice the theories of education as I support the teachers, students, and families of Martin City.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing the piano, reading, and spending time with my family - usually exploring creeks or trails. We recently found a new favorite vacation spot in Northern Michigan, around Mackinaw City. I also proudly cheer on the KC Royals!
