About me!

Hello! It's Mr. Uppman! I have been here at Martin City K-8 since fall 2018 as the before/after coordinator. In Fall of 2022, I made an exciting jump into the 6th Grade Hallway, teaching English Language Arts.  

 

ELA is an acronym for ‘English Language Arts’. Together we will explore the writing process and investigate different parts of literature.  We will be critical thinkers and work to become better students and teachers!  We are a community of learners and each day is a new day.  All students are expected to try their best each day. Sometimes “trying my best” looks and feels different from day to day. The same is true for our middle school students. In ELA, We work to hold ourselves accountable for both academic and social growth.

 

My favorite part of working with Martin City is the amazing people I get to be around. The fun families. The amazing students. The dedicated and supportive staff. I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Special Education as well as a Masters of Education in Collaborative Teaching and Learning. Over the last 14 years some of my pervious experiences include teaching 3rd & 4th Grade, Special Education and Alternative School as well as being a Before and After School Administrator.
