Martin City Title I Plan

Martin City is a Title 1 school. What is Title 1? Title I is the major component of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and the largest federal assistance program for our nation’s schools. The goal of Title I is a higher quality of education for every child. The program serves millions of children in elementary and secondary schools each year. 1st Annual College Day

Martin City Middle school held their 1st annual college day on Friday, October 7. The day started with an assembly featuring speakers from LVCC and UCM. Afterwards, students spent the morning listening to staff share their college paths and practiced writing college applications.

2nd Grade STEM Engineering

Mr. Huffman's Second class completed a STEM engineering design lesson. Students designed straw rockets using materials of their choice. They tested their design with an air pump rocket launcher. If their designs did not fly, students went back and worked to improved their rockets. This is a great inquiry lesson with very high Student engagement.
