I am Marcia Grimes and I am excited to be teaching Kindergarten at MCE. Last year you may have known me as Ms. Protzman, first grade teacher, but I got married over the summer, so my new name is Mrs. Grimes. This is my sixth year in Grandview CSD4 and my fourteenth year teaching overall. I've previously taught first and second grades, but I'm excited to be back in Kindergarten, where I originally started teaching. Kindergarten students grow so much! I strongly believe that all children can learn. Learning is a lifelong process and I strive to instill a passion for learning in all my students. My goal is to work with parents to help your child grow academically, interact socially with peers, and become creative problem solvers. We will work extremely hard every day, yet still have time for fun.
I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from Iowa State University and my Master of Arts in Education from Baker University.
In my free time, I enjoy riding with my husband on his Harley motorcycle, attending Royals baseball games at The K, baking, and playing with our Great Danes, Zeus and Petunia!
