Hello and welcome to our third grade team!
My name is Sara Butler, and I teach third grade students. Working together with third grade students is such a wonderful experience. Watching third graders develop teamwork and communication skills, when exploring new academic concepts and subject areas is a true treasure. This 2018-2019 school year is my eighth year teaching at Martin City. I earned my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), as well as my Master’s Degree in Education of Curriculum and Instruction from Baker University (BU).
Outside of school, I love to spend time with my family and friends. My husband, Bryan Butler, has a lawn and landscape company, and substitute teaches in the Grandview School District during the winter months. We usually stay busy with ongoing home projects (DIY fun chaos), exercise activities, friends and family events and gatherings, time with our AMAZING pets, Mia (cat) and Rett (dog), watching or attending college and pro sports (Go Chiefs and Boston Celtics!!). We love spending time with our AMAZING cat and dog (Mia and Rett). I also enjoy movies, music, learning, working out, and traveling.
I especially love learning and teaching third grade. Sparking a passion for learning begins with teamwork, communication, support, effort, and laughter!
