I am entering my 4th year as assistant principal at Martin City Middle School and my 20th year in the Grandview school district. My educational philosophy is that kids who love school generally are more successful than those who do not. My goal as an administrator is to provide activities and lessons that foster the love of school. I generally break these down into three categories; the love for their friends, the love for their teachers and the love for learning. The first two are very much based on learning how to have productive relationships with peers and adults and is something we work very hard on as a staff. The third depends on changing prevalent mindsets of students that school is mandated and something you have to get through as opposed to the greatest opportunity we are all afforded. Learning new things really is fun and we hope all students enter our classrooms with that mindset. I have an open door policy, stop by anytime or feel free to give me a call. Have a great year.
