Martin City K-8 welcomes parent and community involvement. Studies show when parents and community members are engaged in schools, students perform better, and it builds school/community partnerships that are purposeful and meaningful.
There are great opportunities to get involved in our school. Through our Reader Leader program, you are invited into our classrooms to sit and read or be a reading listener to students in small groups. It’s an hour a month commitment. You can also volunteer with our district through Bright Futures and help serve students in need or be of assistance to teachers. There are plenty of other opportunities to get involved in your student’s school activities, but it starts with signing up.
You can sign up to be a volunteer at our school’s front office or at Central Office (13015 10th Street, Grandview, MO. 64030). Sign up forms are also available on this page.
All district volunteers are subject to a background check done by Cogent. Background check forms can be turned in at Human Resources in Central Office. (Background checks cost $16 cash for the service. This fee excludes field trip volunteers.)
Once your background check is cleared you will be scheduled for a 30 minute orientation to review district policy and volunteer procedures.
