Reading
Unit 5: Students are learning to Draw Conclusions and support their conclusions with evidence from the text and background knowledge.
 
Vocabulary
Students will learn how the prefixes mis- and mal- change the meaning of words.
 
Writing
Students will begin learning how to write opinion essays.
 
Math
In Math, we are in Eureka's Module 5. Students are learning to add and multiply with volume and area.

Social Studies
In Social Studies, we are studying Civil Rights in America.

Reading
We are finishing our study in Unit 4. Students will take an assessment on Tuesday for combining multiple accounts, drawing conclusions and making inferences.
 
Vocabulary
Students will learn and assess over the prefixes, "hypo-" and "super-".
 
Writing
Students will work on their expository essays.
 
Math
In Math, we are in Eureka's Module 4. Students are learning to multiply and divide fractions. View the resources page for information on this module. Students will have a quiz and a module assessment next week.

Social Studies
In Social Studies, students will continue the study of the Civil War.
 
Science
In Science, students will take an assessment over hydrosphere, geosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere, to end our Earth Systems study. We will begin the study of the Human Impact on the Earth.
 Students can access "Studies Weekly" at home and review what we've studied in this section.

Reading
We are continuing our study in Unit 4. Students are learning to draw conclusions, make inferences, and  combine the information from multiple texts to demonstrate an understanding of integrating information.
 
Vocabulary
Students will learn and assess of the prefixes, "hyper-" and "over-".
 
Writing
Students will work on their expository essays.
 
Math
In Math, we are in Eureka's Module 4. Students are learning to multiply and divide fractions. View the resources page for information on this module.

Social Studies
In Social Studies, students will learn the contributions of African Americans in the Civil War. They will also learn about Harriet Tubman and Abraham Lincoln.

In Science, students will learn about the hydrosphere, geosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere, as we continue our study of Earth Systems.
 Students can access "Studies Weekly" at home and review what we've studied in this section.

Reading
Unit 4: Students are learning to take notes and combine the information from multiple texts to demonstrate an understanding of integrating information.
 
Vocabulary
This has been a very special week. We will start new vocabulary next week.
 
Writing
Students are learning to research and write expository nonfiction. Students will be able to write a well-developed nonfiction essay.
 
Math

In Social Studies, we are studying key figures (President: Abraham Lincoln) and states (Northern and Southern) in the Civil War, and events (the decision to end slavery). Students can access "Studies Weekly" to review what we've studied in this section.
